POST-EMPLOYMENT INVESTIGATION

Have you recently had to release an employee? Did their contract have a non-compete clause for when they left? We can conduct a post-employment investigation to check and see who the former employee is working for, who they are meeting with and if any of your clients are being approached. A post-employment investigation is an important tool to help protect your business. You pay to have the non-compete clause in the contract and it should be upheld. Where you suspect or know an former employee has breached a non-compete clause, you need to act quickly to obtain the evidence to obtain a remedy from the courts. A post-employment investigation by an independent licensed investigator is the best way to prove what you know.
How we approach each investigation is different. In a normal investigation we would initially conduct a surveillance investigation to see what they are doing during the work day. This should take place over at least three days, but may need to be more depending on the type of work. If the former employee was seen to approach your clients, we would attempt to identify the nature of the conversation. All interactions would be recorded. A factual investigation could then be conducted and statements could be obtained, where necessary. A desktop investigation would also be conducted to locate any potential businesses being owned or run by them.
